Future IGO, Mercator International Centre for the Ocean

Mercator Ocean is currently transforming into the future intergovernmental organization, the Mercator International Centre for the Ocean, which will continue and expand its mission to advance digital Ocean science and operational oceanography for Member States. During this transformation, Mercator Ocean will serve as the secretariat for the future IGO.
Mercator International Centre for the Ocean will provide Member States with a collaborative platform to govern, co-develop, and maintain digital Ocean systems and information services, including the Digital Twin of the Ocean, for the global Ocean and regional seas. This platform will support operational services for the European Commission and its Copernicus Programme, delivering fit-for-purpose Ocean intelligence to Member States.
As secretariat, Mercator Ocean supports the meetings of the governing council, advisory committees, and working groups, and facilitates the implementation and monitoring of agreed actions.
