The marine heatwave present in the Sea of Japan is decreasing in both intensity and area. The marine heatwave present in the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea is decreasing in area, but its intensity remains within strong to severe and locally extreme categories.
The marine heatwave in the Philippine Sea is increasing in area, with the emergence of strong categories. The extent of the marine heatwave around Papua New Guinea and Indonesia remains stable in area, with the presence of strong and moderate categories.
The marine heatwave located around the equator off the coast of Sumatra is decreasing in area but remains within strong and locally severe categories. The marine heatwave in the Bay of Bengal is increasing in area, with the presence of strong and moderate categories.
