The marine heatwave in the Gulf of Mexico and in the Caribbean Sea remains stable with strong category. The marine heatwave extent around 30°W and near the equator decreases, only a few scattered areas remain.
The marine heatwave between the Japanese and North American coasts is decreasing in extent with moderate category. The marine heatwave in the Japan Sea decreases in extent and intensity. The marine heatwave in the Yellow Sea and in the East China Sea increases in intensity, with strong to severe categories and locally extreme.
The extent of the marine heatwave around Papua New Guinea and Indonesia is decreasing, while its intensity is stable, with moderate and strong categories.
The marine heatwave around the equator off the Sumatra coast increases with strong to severe categories and locally extreme.
