Mercator Ocean International is coordinating the SEACLIM project General Assembly, taking place on 23–24 March 2026 in Madrid, hosted by Puertos del Estado. This annual meeting brings together European partners to review the project’s first achievements and prepare the next steps for 2026.

Funded by Horizon Europe, SEACLIM aims to advance regional ocean climate predictions and projections, improving our understanding of how climate variability and change impact oceans and coastal areas. By combining ocean modelling, climate science and user-driven services, the project contributes to strengthening Europe’s capacity to anticipate ocean-climate impacts and support informed decision-making.

Over two days, partners will:

  • Share progress on regional ocean predictions and 21st-century projections
  • Advance work on ocean climate indicators
  • Demonstrate coastal and ocean climate services, including applications for ports
  • Engage with users and stakeholders to support climate adaptation

On the second day, a dedicated webinar on ports and climate adaptation will bring together experts working with the port sector to discuss climate risk assessment, adaptation planning and long-term resilience. The session is open to external participants.
